Here we are in Hilo Hawaii experiencing a frequent event if you are lucky and paying attention. I saw this Honu at a rare white sands beach on the rainy side of the Big Island. This painting is in a private collection.

In Hawaii Lahala is used to weave mats and clothing. I find the tree and leaves to be a great study of twists and color. This painting was done in the afternoon light. Hope you like it.
